Fit To Manage (FTM) is owned by Stuart Andrews and Bronwyn Thompson and has been in operation in Canberra since 1999. Both Stuart and Bronwyn have represented Australia at Commonwealth and Olympic levels in their respective sports of track and field, bobsleigh and rowing. Through this they gained a broad knowledge of functional human movement which has been augmented by their formal studies. They founded FTM to offer clients an individually tailored rehabilitation approach in a relaxed and inclusive environment.
As former Decathlon champion and bobsleigh competitor, Stuart’s passion for FTM is deeply personal. He faced the challenge of his own recovery after a horrific bobsleigh accident. This was the catalyst for Stuart inventing and patenting two internationally recognised rehabilitation systems.
Stuart also has an accomplished mechanical design background. He designed the world’s smallest airship for the 2000 Paralympics Opening Ceremony as well as specialised wheels for wheelchair athlete Louise Sauvage. He is also the author of Blind Leading the Blind - the empowering story of Stuart and two visually impaired athletes paddling across the Torres Strait and walking the infamous Kokoda Track.
Bronwyn completed her Bachelor Degree in Science at The University of Melbourne and went on to complete her post-graduate diploma in Psychology. Bronwyn’s focus is not just on preventing and treating workplace injuries but to ensure that you have the necessary coping mechanisms to enable you to transition back into the workforce.
